Here's an interview that I just watched where Drake talks about collaborations. A lot of people were angry that his album is feature heavy, but he states that this album is capturing this time in his life, where he has met and built relationships with a lot of people. He does say on his next albums it will only have a few features though.
I would like to write a post on what makes an album "classic" or what elements are prominent in classic albums, but that's a lot to take on. I have noticed that a lot of people claim that most albums that are classified as classics don't have that many features, which is true. For example, "The Blueprint" has only a few features. However, an album that I consider classic, and was named the top album of last decade "College Dropout" is full of features. So maybe that's not necessary to make a classic album. I would eventually like to write about classics, but I feel like I would need to talk to a lot of my friends' opinions that I respect to get their feedback and insight. Or, if anyone actually reads this blog and would like to post a comment on what makes an album classic or what and common things about classic albums that would be great and very appreciated.
