New Now Next Awards 2012 Nominees/Who Should Win

Next Mega Star
Lizzy Caplan ("New Girl," FOX)
Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games)
Michael B. Jordan ("Parenthood," NBC)
Elizabeth Olsen (Kill Your Darlings)
Emily VanCamp ("Revenge," ABC)

This was a hard one to choose, mostly because most of the people already have an impressive career.  For instance, Emily Van Camp was a regular on Everwood and Brothers and Sisters before Revenge, Josh Hutcherson was in "The Kids Are Alright" Lizzy Caplan was in "Mean Girls" "Elizabeth Olsen was featured in her sister's video and "Martha Marcy May Marlene," and Micheal B. Jordan was on The Wire and Friday Night Lights. Although I'm a huge fan of revenge, I had to go with Michael B. Jordan in this one.  He has been doing well in both tv and film, (he was just in "Red Tails," and have you seen "Chronicile"?!  Crazy, I've seen it twice) and never plays the stereotypical black character while at the same time playing a real black person who isn't white washed.  Since that is still so rare in Hollywood, he gets a nod for smart choices and excellent performances.

Brink-of-Fame: Music Artist
Azealia Banks (Interscope Records)
Childish Gambino (Glassnote Records)
FUN. (Atlantic Records)
Jessie J (Universal Republic Records)
Neon Hitch (Warner Bros. Records)
Rebecca Ferguson (Columbia Records)

Although I love Donald Glover as Troy on Community, I do appreciate some of his songs, especially "Freaks and Geeks"

Most Addictive Reality Star
Abby Lee Miller ("Dance Moms," Lifetime)
Andy Cohen ("Watch What Happens Live," Bravo
Big Ang ("Mob Wives," VH1)
Evelyn ("Basketball Wives," VH1)
Nadia G. ("Bitchin' Kitchen," Cooking Channel)
Willam (RuPaul's Drag Race, Logo)

Dance Moms is probably one of the most epic Reality TV shows ever.    Yes, up there with Making the Band 2.  I can't even describe it because it so unbelievable, but so real at the same time.

Cause You're Hot
Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, WB)
Henry Cavill ("The Tudors," Showtime)
Jessica Lange ("American Horror Story," FX)
Naya Rivera ("Glee," Fox)
Novak Djokovic (tennis player)
Paula Patton (MI4, Paramount)

Channing Tatum has been sexy since Coach Carter, thank you very much.  I'm not a Johnny-Come-Lately that first saw him in "Step Up."

Beyond Style Award
Andrej Pejic (model)
China Chow ("Work of Art," Bravo)
Jeremy Scott (designer)
Kelly Osbourne
Sean Avery (writer)

The fact that a designer can seamlessly be on the same cover as Complex as A$AP Rocky goes beyond style in himself.  And he's shoes are incredible.  You gotta love a boundary that knows no boundaries.

Best New Indulgence
"Absolutely Fabulous" Revival (BBC/Logo)
Pinterest.com
Seamless.com
"Revenge" (ABC)

Its hard in tv for a show to keep you on the edge of your seat every episode.  This happens sometimes on premium channels.  However, their seasons are shorter so they have more time to craft something like this.  The last show that has been able to do that is Vampire Diaires, and Pretty Little Liars.  You gotta appreciate the remergence of the mystery/thriller/murder shows.

Next Must-See Movie
Magic Mike (WB)
Moonrise Kingdom (Univ)
Prometheus (Fox)
Snow White & The Huntsman (Univ)
Ted (Univ)
The Avengers (Par)

Channing Tantum as a stripper?  Sign me up.

TV You Betta Watch
"Game of Thrones" (HBO)
"GCB" (ABC)
"Homeland" (Showtime)
"Portlandia" (IFC)
"Savage U" (MTV)
"Shameless" (Showtime)

Shameless is insane.  Its sad, funny, realistic, bizarre, and effed up all at once.

I have to admit I wasn't very familiar with any of these sites before, but after perusing them, realitytvgifs.tumblr.com was my favorite.  It great with people appreciate the same reality tv moments as you.
