[Mixtape] Jhene Aiko-sailing soul(s)

You may remember Jhene Aiko as the girl that sang the hook to the drake leak song "July" from last summer or the "cousin" of Lil Fizz from B2K (they aren't actually cousins. She admitted it was just a media ploy). But now she is making moves to stand on her own with the release of her mixtape sailing soul(s). The singer, song writer, and mother (she has a daughter with Omarion's brother O'Ryan) wrote all the songs on the mixtape excluding "July". The mixtape doesn't really have a theme. Its reads more like a diary. "sailing soul(s)" is filled with songs about the thoughts you have when you let your mind wander. My favorite songs are "hoe," "you vs. them," and "growing apart too". This mixtape also features artists Miguel, Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Roosevelt, and HOPE. She also samples verses from 50 Cent (Wanksta) and Gucci Mane (Pretty Girls).

Bei Maejor-"Racks on Racks" Piano Remix

"Racks on Racks" is one of my guilty pleasure songs, but this piano remix makes it even better.  I love Bei Maejor's music works so I'm glad he remixed this song.  Nice visual for the song also. I respect the fact that when Bei Maejor puts something out, he never half ass it and does a complete project.

[New Music] Bei Maejor Feat. J.Cole "Trouble"

My alma mater, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, is a very school spirited too. While I've never been the crazy football fan, but I always get really excited when I see fellow alum following their dreams. That being said, I am a huge fan of Bei Maejor, and not only because he's a Michigan alumnus. He's an amazing artist and producer, producing for major artists like Trey Songz (ex: "Black Roses")and Keri Hilson (ex: "Buyou") just to name a few. He has also put out successful mixtapes including "Upside Down 1 and 2" and "Throwback." His new single "Trouble" features J. Cole, who he previously worked with on "Buyou." Its a great club R&B song that's extremely relatable about a situation many males have been in and many females knowingly put themselves in. I always love when singers are also producers and have total control of their work, so I'm excited for his future projects. You can listen to the song here.
